Very proud to have the last word in my favorite newspaper the Financial Times.
Gillian Tett is the chair of the editorial board and a fabulous columnist.
In a wonderful article that you really should read “Financial cartels face digital currency shake-up” Tett wrote:
“It seems unlikely that CBDCs (or privately created digital tokens) will be an effective form of money for retail finance anytime soon.”
Quick to sense an error I wrote this shocking fact about retail CBDCs:
India will start trials of its CBDC in December. With China and India both using CBDCs it will mean that roughly 36 per cent of the world’s population will have access to retail CBDCs in the next few years.
That was fun as Gillian Tett kindly responded to my email and I promptly sent her a copy of “Cashless.”
I hope she enjoys it as I am a big fan of her writing!
