If you want to know the future of fintech in the West, look at China. China is about 10 years ahead. Don’t believe me? Look at WhatsApp and Novi its a copy of WeChat!

Sure the brands and names will change but the relationship to money will be similar to the relationship we have with money in China today.

Easy, it’s a great example of what can happen if big tech goes into payment. Both WeChat and Alipay got banking licenses and they radically changed the payment.

This leads us into CBDC and how going cashless brought digital innovation in society. WeChat and Alipay helped bring digital innovation more deeply into society. CBDC will bring it even deeper.
