The reality is that, as a society, we pay absurd amounts to transfer money. We have to think of credit card merchant fees as the blood, sweat, and tears of the owners! What is a small change to you on a cup of coffee is a lot to your local coffee shop.
The fees for payments in the US at roughly $600 billion is only a bit less than the US’s $700 billion spent annually for its military! Big money!
Payment fees are a societal tax!
